What are the characteristics of Wuzhou barges?
The Wuzhou barge manufacturer believes that a barge is a small vessel used to transfer cargo from larger ships. When large ships bring goods from distant locations and cannot deliver them directly to every destination, or when the docks are shallow, barges are employed for transshipment. Barges are primarily used either before the ship departs from the port of origin or after it arrives at the port of discharge.
Wuzhou Barge Manufacturers consider barges to be small vessels used to transfer cargo from larger ships. When large ships bring goods from distant locations and cannot deliver them directly to every destination, or when the docks are shallow, barges are employed for transshipment. Barges are primarily used either before the ship departs from the port of origin or after it arrives at the port of discharge.

Wuzhou Barge The manufacturer believes that booking space for barges:
1. Major container shipping lines and barge companies typically sign cooperation contracts with barge operators. They also have their own dedicated contacts. (For such bookings, you need to specify the home port of the mother vessel; during the barge transit, the container shipping line is not responsible for or liable for any related operations.)
2. Wuzhou Barge The manufacturer believes that whether exporting via barge or directly by ocean liner, it’s first necessary to book space with the major shipping line. The major shipping line then places an order to arrange barges for the barge company. Freight forwarders and shipowners do not contact the barge company directly; instead, they deal directly with the major shipping line.
3. After the shipping company has normally released the cabin space, the cabin release notice will specify the corresponding barge schedule, vessel schedule, and the port interception time for the barge.
4. The shipping company also has a corresponding agreement yard at the departure port of the barge.
5. Wuzhou Barge The manufacturer believes that at the agreement yard, container hauling, container fabrication, customs clearance, and port consolidation are proceeding normally. As long as the mother vessel catches up with the barge within the specified time frame, there generally won't be any issues—except for the possibility of a warehouse explosion.
6. Barges typically have a 7-day free storage period, and large vessels also enjoy a 7-day free storage period. If you miss the scheduled departure of the large vessel, storing your cargo at the terminal for more than seven days will incur additional charges. Therefore, when booking a barge, it’s best to arrange the loading time well in advance.
7. After the barge is loaded, head directly to the departure port’s terminal to unload the containers and wait for boarding!
The Wuzhou barge manufacturer believes that the cargo manifest for barges is:
1. The customer requests export vessel information—ship name and voyage number—from the barge company. The customer can only pre-enter customs declaration information after obtaining this vessel information.
2. The Wuzhou barge manufacturer believes that when the customer receives the vessel information, the first step is to provide the customs clearance information (such as bill of lading number, container number, seal number, cargo description, weight, etc.) to the barge company and enter the pre-allocated manifest information into the customs system.
3. After the ocean freight barge company completes the preliminary allocation of manifest information, the terminal will send a cargo arrival report and an acknowledgment of receipt for the cargo arrival report. The customer can then enter this data into the customs system for declaration, ensuring that the data matches what was entered by the barge company; otherwise, the goods cannot be released.
4. Customer, barge company, and terminal data are consistent, are not subject to customs control or inspection, and can be released normally.
5. The barge company prepares a loading list based on the customs release information and arranges for loading at the terminal.
The Wuzhou barge manufacturer notes that the barge manifest lists the name of the loading port, as well as the barge’s name and its voyage itinerary. However, the shipment date indicated on the barge manifest refers to the date when the barge loads its cargo, while the port of registry and the vessel’s voyage number are recorded based on the ship’s loading date—which typically occurs later than the barge’s loading date. Generally speaking, the bill of lading for a barge is issued more quickly than the bill of lading for a vessel.
